Terms of use and disclaimer

US Citizenship Prep is a free study aid made by a volunteer to help people prepare for the U.S. naturalization test. By using this site you agree to the terms on this page. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Not a government website

This site is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency. The official source for naturalization information and study materials is uscis.gov/citizenship.

2. Not legal advice

Everything on this site is general educational information. It is not legal advice, and using the site does not create an attorney-client relationship or any other professional relationship. The people behind this site are not acting as your lawyer or your representative. For advice about your own situation, talk to a licensed immigration attorney or a representative accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice.

3. The content may be wrong or out of date

We work to keep this site accurate, but we do not promise that it is. Immigration law, USCIS forms, fees, procedures, test questions, accepted answers and the names of public officials change, sometimes without notice. This site may contain errors, may be incomplete, and may not have been updated after a change.

You are responsible for checking anything you rely on against the official USCIS materials, including the current question list and the test updates page, before your interview. If this site and USCIS disagree, USCIS is correct.

4. No guarantee of results

Using this site does not guarantee that you will pass any part of the naturalization test or that your application will be approved. Practice tests here are a study aid. They are not the real test, they are scored by you or by a simple program, and a passing score here does not predict or guarantee a passing score at your interview.

5. No warranty

This site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the owner, operators and contributors of this site are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for any loss, cost or expense, arising from or related to your use of the site or your reliance on its content. This includes, without limitation, a failed test, a delayed or denied application, filing fees, lost time, or lost data such as saved study progress. You use this site at your own risk.

7. Free and non-commercial

The site is free to use. It has no accounts, no advertising and nothing for sale. See the privacy page for what is stored on your device.

8. Links to other websites

This site links to government and other websites for your convenience. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or availability.

9. Content and ownership

The civics questions and answers and the vocabulary lists are published by USCIS, a U.S. government agency. The practice sentences, multiple-choice options and guide pages were written for this site. The U.S. flag is shown as a national symbol only and does not indicate any government connection or approval.

10. Changes

These terms and the content of the site may change at any time. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last changed. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about these terms or your use of the site must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut.

12. If part of these terms cannot be enforced

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest of the terms still apply.
